Summary
Tesamorelin is a stabilised analogue of growth hormone releasing factor carrying a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminus, which slows enzymatic degradation relative to the native sequence. It is supplied lyophilised and is highly sensitive to moisture uptake during subdivision.
The hexenoyl modification introduces manufacturer-specific impurity profiles, so two lots of equal stated purity can carry very different related substance sets. Water content is the most common source of overstated potency in quotes we review.
