MOTS-C

Regulatory status

Not an approved drug substance in the United States and not on the 503A bulks list. Available to verified facilities for research and manufacturing use only.

Summary

MOTS-C is a sixteen-residue mitochondrial-derived peptide. At this length the synthesis is long enough that deletion sequences accumulate, and purity above 98 percent requires a genuine preparative purification step rather than a single crude pass.

Manufacturers differ substantially in whether they report the deletion sequence profile at all. Where it is absent we do not accept the purity figure as comparable to lots where it is reported.

Typical related substances

Typical related substances are single and double deletion sequences, oxidised methionine variants and residual acetate and water.
